Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004-LEOSA; (A.K.A. H.R. 218):
Chapter 44 of Title 18, United States Code: Section 926C.
Carrying of concealed firearms by qualified retired law enforcement officers;
(5) “During the most recent 12-month period, has met, at the expense of the individual, the State’s standards for training and qualification for active law enforcement officers to carry firearms;”
This course is to re-qualify retired Law Enforcement officers; local, state, and federal.
Instructors are Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified, same standards as Learning Domain 35 (PC832) with slight modification.
Course of fire is 36 rounds.
The student is required to tactically load and reload the handgun using the loading device they bring and successfully clear any malfunctions that may occur during the course of fire
CCW 4-hr Renewal:
CCW Renewal Course Curriculum (every 2 years) – Complete at least a 4-hour firearms update refresher course. The course will contain as a minimum: 4-HR UPDATE.
BSIS Firearms Permit Requalification:
Live Fire Requalification’s are for those security guards that already have the Exposed Firearm Permit. Students must provide 50 rounds of ammunition (per caliber). Holders of the Firearm Permit must requalify four times during the life of the permit: twice during the first year after the date of issuance, and twice during the second year. Requalifications must be at least four months apart.
All renewals and requalifications: $50
